ZDelete for Windows is a complete privacy protection program that works by deleting all sensitive data permanently, that is, it can not be recovered by any means. It works by overwriting the data one or more times with zeros, ones and/or random bits depending on the wiping standard selected.

It detects your installed web browser to delete any temporary files, cookies, history, and favorite direct accesses related to them. It perfectly detected my IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari browsers and was able to locate the files and folders to delete (SQLITE, DAT, or TMP). Alternatively, you can select other system folders, like temporary files, recent, media player recent, recycle bin, and auto-complete, among others. It also lets you choose any files and folders you want to delete. It includes a disk wiper, in which you can select any storage media you want to perform a wiping task.

It supports 17 wiping standards, from one pass to Peter Gutman's 35 passes. It also supports the most known browsers, like IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera, and Firefox. It has a useful time scheduler which performs the deleting task saved in your profile.

In my case, the wiping process took more than three hours with the US Department of Defense standard (US DoD 5220.22-M 3 passes) on a 400GB partition with 170GB of free space. It can take more or less depending on the capacity of the storage media, more exactly, on the free space, which is where the program works, and system performance. more
